Failing comedian and mildly successful copywriter.

Joshua Lampley is originally from Fairview, Tennessee. He was going to try and write this whole bio in third person, but nobody wants to read that.

I moved to New York to pursue comedy after performing stand-up and improv for years in Knoxville, Nashville, and other cities in Tennessee that you’ve never heard of. Over the years, I worked a number of jobs: I was a sports writer and host of a sports radio show, wrote freelance articles about gambling odds, edited local newscasts, worked as a production assistant for a murder documentary series, associate produced that murder documentary series, and then was promoted to casting director for that very same murder documentary series. Throughout my not-so-storied career, one thing remained constant: my desire to make people laugh at my own expense.

Upon moving to New York City, I worked as a receptionist at an ad agency. After leading the agency soccer team to an impressive 1-5 season (our one win was by forfeit), my agency-wide match recap emails caught the eye of those above me, and I was able to transition into a Copywriter role. Now, I’m here, working as an Associate Creative Director. Ready to write something for you… or captain your soccer team.
